The Orthodox Church believes, knows, that God, the Holy Spirit, and Heaven itself are “everywhere present and fills all things.” That you can become a part of this even now in our fallen human and material condition. What can you do to access this? Believe, quiet yourself, and ask and ask again.

The church gives us the tools to do just that, to bring the Spirit and the kingdom into our lives. These are the tools for you to use as the Spirit moves you. This church will never violate your God-given right to free will.

One of those tools is prayer. We have the daily, hourly, and annual cycles of prayer. Here you have a calendar that presents both the daily and annual cycles. It also speaks to the other great tool, fasting. Here you will find the feasts, the saints of the day, and the bible reading prescribed for that day. If you read the Gospel and Epistle every day, you will have read the New Testament every year. Add the Psalms and Old Testament readings, and you will have a theological base that will support you throughout your life.

The other great tool the church has for you is the Divine Liturgy. Where we sing and pray the Psalms. Worship with all of our senses. And where each person finds their own way to grow closer to God.
